Australian explosives manufacturer expands LatAm presence
Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uria (Peru) has helped Australia’s Orica Mining acquire industrial explosives company Exsa for US$203 million.
Peruvian conglomerate Grupo Breca, the seller, turned to Rodrigo, Elias & Medrano Abogados for the deal, which was announced on 18 February.
Orica acquired 83.5% of Exca’s shares, which are listed on the Peruvian Stock Exchange.
Exsa is Peru’s number one manufacturer and distributor of industrial explosives.
Orica also has a presence in Chile, which includes a manufacturing plant in Antofagasta and an office in Santiago.
