Torres Unidas refinancing calls on Greenberg, Barros & Errázuriz and PPU

Banking, Finance and Capital Markets

Greenberg Traurig LLP in Miami and Barros & Errázuriz Abogados in Santiago have helped the Chilean arm of Andean telecoms infrastructure company Torres Unidas obtain a 33.5 billion pesos (US$49 million) syndicated financing from a group of lenders led by Scotiabank Chile.

Scotiabank hired Chilean firm Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Chile). It is also thought to have worked with Morrison & Foerster LLP in New York, but this was not confirmed before publication. The loan closed on 11 May.

The loan refinanced a previous loan granted by Scotiabank Chile and Scotiabank Perú, to Torres Unidas’ subsidiaries in Peru and Chile.
