Three firms seal the deal for Emirati manufacturer entering LatAm

Corporate / M&A

DLA Piper Martinez Beltrán in Bogotá has helped Dubai-based food packaging manufacturer Taghleef acquire Colombian counterpart Biofilm.

Santamarina y Steta in Mexico City and Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Colombia) advised the shareholders of Biofilm, Lisa Holdings and Valorem. The target company retained Santamarina y Steta for the antitrust leg of deal, which closed on 31 December after getting approval from the Mexican authorities.

Taghleef has now expanded its global footprint to Latin America through the acquisition. The manufacturer already operates across Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and North America.

Biofilm specialises in food labels and food sealing technologies. It operates across Mexico and Colombia.
