CECC awarded Bogotá Regiotram de Occidente tender

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation-CCECC on the deal 

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) secured a tender to build and operate Colombia’s Bogotá Regiotram de Occidente system.

The new 39.6km electrified line connects Bogota to its western suburbs, and connect to the existing metro network. The China Railway Construction Corporation subsidiary was the sole bidder of the 26-year public-private partnership agreement.

Total cost of the project is estimated at $1.057 billion.

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation offers engineering services. The Company contracts and constructs railways, highways, bridges, and municipal projects. China Civil Engineering Construction also operates trading, industrial investment, and hotel management businesses.

Passenger services are scheduled to commence in 2024.
